Alot of your logos like this one have major kerning issues. For example on this logo A next to Z. Are you using Illustrator for your logos? Alot of your typography and color combinations confuse me too. I think you have some splendid ideas, but like this logo there's too much for one logo. You have a guy with a pizza which is redundant since you have "pizza" already. I think the pizza guy or the roulette would suffice, but both is excessive. And then you also have the Italian flag, but I only noticed that because I know what Italy's colors are. A good number of people wouldn't understand what this or was. A logo or identity rather needs to simplistic, direct and one complete composition. Kerning can be a real pain in the ass which working with different type faces. I use a perspective grid/rulers for all my logo/logotypes. I highly reccommend doing this in Illustrator, not just PS if you aren't already.

Hey Blake,

Thank you for your input.

In graphic design one size does not fit all. I feel that you are
describing a corporate logo for a client who sells Italian food.
I dont design logos in photoshop, everything you
see here was made in illustrator. The colour combinations should
not confuse you as this is obviously an Italian restaurant using
the Italian colours. Logos come in all shapes and sizes, if you
can illustrate many clients ask for a more detailed logo rather
than text based logos or iconic logo. When you receive a new client you cant simply start an iconic or text based logo, you need to assess their audience and hear what the client is asking for. If the client wants an illustrated logo with italian colours you make it work for them, or you teach them a better way.

In regards to people not knowing the Italian
colours, i extremely disagree as the Italian flag is probably the
most well known in the world due to all the Italian restaurants.

You have many great points though many do not relate to this logo. The kerning you mentioned is spot on, this logo does need proper Kerning.

Thank you for your feedback.

Were you making this for some local pizza shop? A custom logo? I thought this was a corporate/commercial logo. I well understand corporate differs form personal. There was a little rhetoric. I thought there was a casino factor to this, because there he's holding blackjack cards and his back to a roulette table. Why not have had him hold a beer or his hand to lips like the Italians do. But in the end you need a paycheck so you design what they want. In regards to spacing, etc. this is what I was talking about [link] As I said in my other comment, these are my mere thoughts, not personal attacks, etc. I critique and form other ideas for other people's designs and I encourage the same for mine. "Critiquing" or forming opinionated ideas to other people's designs builds interactions in improving my designs as well, but also engaging in one on one. Again, I'm not a professional, only a student, I also realize the design trends there in AU will differ from here in the USA. I think your ideas designs are wonderful and do create an impact.
